My Past Motorcycles
I have worked my way up (and down!) through a collection of motorcycles over the years.
In order I think!
1969 Honda Z50, 1970 Suzuki TS50, 1968 Suzuki TS250, 1973 Yamaha RD250, 1972 Honda CB500-4, 1972 Suzuki GT550, 1982 Can-Am 250 Qualifier, 1975 Honda CB750, 1982 Yamaha XS400, 1984 Yamaha FJ1100, 1997 Yamaha YZF1000R, 1997 Suzuki TL1000S, 1998 Kawasaki ZRX1100, 1982 Yamaha XS400, 1985 Honda GL1200.
The list of race bikes is a lot shorter - 1976 Suzuki T500 and a 1969 Honda CB350. Pictures of these two bikes can be found on the 2009 and 2010 season pages.
Visit the Galleries Page to see pictures of as many of these bikes as I have been able to find.

Motorcyle Instructing Career!
Rider Training Institute
Career? Well no not really, and truthfully for seasoned riders it might seem tedious to show beginning riders "the ropes". But it has been one of the most rewarding parts of my motorcycle background. To see people progress to "riders" is truly rewarding. It is also great to see them come back later on their own bikes to show them off and say thanks.
Also I have joined and made friends In the VRRA, I have found out that one of our fastest members, Steve Hoffarth, who races in the Period 4 Formula 1 class is also a "fellow instructor"!

My Racing "Career"!
Getting Started
Even though I did not own a bike at the time, I came into my marriage as a rider. A couple of bikes came and went, one of which was an ISDE prepared Can-am 250 purchased from Blair Sharpless. Not an ideal motocross bike, but with its "legendary" reliability and crazy left side kick start, I knew it was the bike for me. I raced only a couple of years until priorities shifted (family first!). After a seemingly endless layoff, along came a big sport tourer with a loud exhaust and full fairings. With the best tires money could buy (they make good 16" tires?) I set out on a mission to drag toes and knees at every chance. I soon realized it would not be happening on that bike and moved to a YZF1000, Suzuki TL1000, and a ZRX (almost all at the same time!). more "getting started"...
