Season 4 - 2012
Race Bike
With the approval of the Chief Financial Officer, I have moved from the P1 350 of the 2010 season to the more crowded P4F3 class, so gone are the podium dreams! This bike is a 1988 Honda Hawk, 650 c.c. V-twin developing around 51 horsepower. As with the P1 350, "ease of use" was forefront in bike choice and this one is electric start and the engine is basically stock (not finicky). There are a few others in the club, some with more heavily modified engines. These bikes seems to turn in better times than they should based on their excellent handling.
The paint scheme on the left is current and on the right is a classic Honda paint scheme I quite like. Hmmmm, it's not even in my garage yet!

Transponder
AMB160
As part of VRRA's timing and scoring, each bike has a transponder mounted on it. This device is registered to the rider and bike number, and each time it crosses the start finish line, it transmits its identity. This is read by a computer so people know your lap times and counts. I have previously rented one each race weekend, but have sourced one from Andrea Goodman with thanks!
First Round - Shannonville

Here is Vince, Karen and I heading into the famous Allens Corner in the first round of 2012. It was alternately rainy and sunny making the choice to go out on slicks or wets difficult. I did a practice in the wet on slicks and a race in the dry on rains, and ended up mid pack. I follow a great start with midpack finishes. Oh well, first P4F3 race out of the way, now to get more aggressive!
